In 1988, Baramulti Group commenced trading in Jakarta, the first coal concession was acquired in Malinau, East Kalimantan. It now owns seven producing coal concessions with five other concessions under development.
The Group’s shipping business was established in 1993. It now operates 40 units of tugs and barges, of which 16 are owned by the Group.
The group also owns six floating cranes which provide offshore transshipment services for dry bulk cargo.

 

Construction Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing the site and liaising with other construction professionals such as architects, engineers, buyers, estimators and surveyors before construction work start.
  • Developing the programme of work and strategy for making the project happen.
  • Planning ahead to provent problems on site before they occur, for example, planning the delivery and storage of equipment and materials.
  • Making safety inspections of the site when work is underway and ensuring regulations relating to health safety and the environment (HSE) are adherred to.
  • Overseeing the running of several projects.
  • Using construction management software packages to plan smooth work flows.
  • communicating with a range of people including the client, subcontractors, suppliers, the public and the workforce.
  • Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines.
  • Determine labor requirements and dispatch workers to construction sites.
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Obtain all necessary permits and licenses.
  • Direct and supervise workers.
  • Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
  • Select, contract, and oversee workers who complete specific pieces of the project, such as painting or plumbing.
  • Requisition supplies and materials to complete construction projects.
  • Prepare and submit budget estimates and progress and cost tracking reports.
  • Develop and implement quality control programs.
  • Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction site.
  • Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
  • Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.
  •  Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.
  • valuate construction methods and determine cost-effectiveness of plans, using computers.
  • Direct acquisition of land for construction projects.

Qualifications:

  • Male, Maximum 45 years old
  • senior-level role that requires industry and project experience
  • in-depth knowledge of the construction business.
  • Graduates from a related degree typically join construction organisations and progress to this kind of role once chartered status has been achieved.
  • Degree/MEng in building studies, building engineering, construction engineering management and building technology
  • Training and experience must then be completed with an accredited employer.
  • Construction managers need to be forward planners, with exceptional people skills and the ability to present ideas and negotiate.
  • Information technology is increasingly important for managers working on site and in the office, so building up skills in this area is vital
  • Good problem solving skills are essential.

 

QAQC Inspector

Resposibility :

  • Submit the required numbers of HSE Inputs in accordance with published individual team targets
  • Monitor Contractors QC programs and personnel for full compliance
  • Monitor Contractors Quality Plans and ensure the requirements of associated Inspection & Test Plans are fully met
  • Ensure that the Contractor and their Sub-Contractors fully implement the requirements defined within the approved control Procedures/Guidelines etc
  • Conduct patrol surveillance of the Contractors and Sub-contractors activities
  • Monitor performance and effectiveness of the Contractors QC activities
  • When required, participate in Quality Audits and assessments on the Contractor or their Sub-contractors
  • Attend site QC meetings ensuring quality requirements are fully discussed
  • Source the relevant data for the quality key performance indicators (KPI)
  • Implement the QA/QC management system at site
  • Coordinate with quality inspections with all the site sub contractors and vendors coordinate all non destructive testing on site
  • Coordinate with the customers representative on all quality matters
  • Coordinate all receipt inspections
  • Distribute relevant QA/QC documentation to site subcontractors
  • Verify that the quality related site activities are in accordance with the applicable codes and standards
  • Participate in the site internal and external site audits
  • Coordinate all the quality site inspections through the site QC inspectors
  • Ensure all quality control documentation is complied and competed for as-built hand over through the QC turnover engineer
  • Control all nonconformance reports and undertake remedial action
  • Compete site quality control instructions and action remedial responses
  • Review the customers specification and undertake relevant training to the site QC inspector
  • Monitor the implementation of the approved site QC Plan
  • Complete and coordinate the approval of the sites QC technical submittals to the customer
  • Coordinate with the site construction manager on all quality issues Coordinate and chair the QA/QC site weekly meetings with the projects subcontractors QC personnel
  • Elaborating inspection and test programs
  • Ensure the safety is adhered to at site
  • Assure all technical documents relative to site quality control are current status

Requirements:

  • As a quality control inspector  must be observant and very good at paying attention to detail.
  • Need to be patient as some tests are complex and take a long time to complete.
  • Should have a logical, methodical approach to your work and you must be accurate when taking measurements and recording figures.
  • Good number skills, for example, in order to measure and weigh samples, or perhaps to understand and use statistics.
  • Have good computer skills because quality control inspectors often analyse, store and display test results on computers.
  • Able to use technical equipment, for example, microscopes and automated testing machines.
  • Good communication skills are important to motivate others to improve the quality of their work, as well as to explain your findings clearly. Good report writing skills are also useful.
