PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk - Site Wetar Copper Mine is a company engaging in mining business activities, encompassing the exploration and future production of copper and other related minerals. Currently we are seeking suitable candidates to join our team in several positions.

 

METALLURGY & PROJECT DEVELOPMENT SUPERINTENDENT

Overview: This role is taking responsibility to lead the development of metallurgical processes and processing facility improvement projects through technical studies, process optimization, project implementation, technology development, and continuous improvement to increase metal recovery, process efficiency, production capacity, and the sustainability of company operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of metallurgical studies and process development to improve metal recovery, operational efficiency, and production capacity.
  • Develop process optimization strategies for Crushing, Agglomeration, Heap Leaching, Solvent Extraction (SX), Electrowinning (EW), and other processing processes according to the company's operational characteristics.
  • Identify process plant debottlenecking opportunities through operational data analysis, metallurgical accounting, and process simulation.
  • Lead the implementation of metallurgical test work, pilot plants, laboratory trials, and new technology evaluations as the basis for implementing development projects.
  • Prepare technical feasibility studies, design concepts, scopes of work, cost estimates, and implementation schedules for plant development projects.
  • Oversee the implementation of process facility improvement projects, from engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, to performance testing.
  • Coordinate with the Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Project, Supply Chain, and HSE teams to ensure projects run according to quality, cost, schedule, and safety targets.
  • Ensure the implementation of continuous improvement and operational excellence programs across all metallurgical processes.
  • Evaluate metallurgical performance by monitoring recovery, reagent consumption, throughput, metal balance, and process efficiency.
  • Develop standard operating procedures, technical procedures, process control strategies, and best practices in the metallurgy area.
  • Manage operational and project budgets in the Metallurgy & Project Development area effectively and efficiently.
  • Foster, develop, and evaluate the competency of the Metallurgy & Project Development team through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
  • Ensure all activities comply with occupational safety, environmental requirements, and applicable mining regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Chemical Engineering with strong experience in process metallurgy.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience at a senior level in the mining or mineral processing industry with copper, gold, heap leach, hydrometallurgy, and pyrite processing commodities.
  • Has in-depth competency in process metallurgy, metallurgical accounting, process optimization, metallurgical test work, project development, process simulation, data analysis, and engineering knowledge.
  • Able to carry out project management and see opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate capabilities in leadership and team development.
  • Has been certified POP/POM, as well as other relevant professional certificates.
  • Willing to be placed in Wetar, Maluku with roster 4 weeks on-site and 2 weeks off (leave will be fully accomodated to PoH).
  • Willingness working on a contract basis.

 

MARINE SUPERVISOR

Overview: This role is taking responsible for coordinating and overseeing the safe and efficient loading and unloading of cargo on board the vessel. He/She ensures that all loading and unloading activities comply with relevant regulations, guidelines, and company policies. He/she also serves as the primary liaison between the vessel operator, cargo owner, and port authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate vessel loading and unloading, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Develop and implement loading plans to optimize vessel capacity and ensure safe and secure cargo storage.
  • Conduct pre-loading meetings with vessel operators, cargo owners, and port authorities to review loading plans and address any issues.
  • Monitor loading and unloading processes to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of cargo movements, including weight, volume, and storage location.
  • Coordinate with terminal operators, stevedores, and other stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient loading and unloading activities.
  • Provide guidance and support to the operations team to ensure that loading and unloading activities are carried out in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure that all safety procedures and protocols are followed during loading and unloading activities.
  • Coordinate the issuance of marine certificates and other required documentation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nautical Engineering, Marine Transportation, Naval Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or Transportation Management.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in port operations or marine operations, with 2-3 years of which at a senior level, in the following industries: Mining, Smelter, Bulk terminal, Shipping, Port operator, or EPC marine logistics.
  • Experienced in handling: loading bulk cargo, port operations, ship loading, cargo handling, vessel coordination.
  • Have a deep understanding of marine and port operations, bulk cargo handling, shipping documentation, as well as relevant maritime regulations that apply nationally and internationally.
  • POP certified, as well as other certifications such as Ahli K3 Umum, ISO 45001/14001 Internal Auditor, and maritime related are preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; excellent organizational and planning skills; ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Willing to be placed in Wetar, Maluku with roster 4 weeks on-site and 2 weeks off (leave will be fully accomodated to PoH).
  • Willingness working on a contract basis.
