Merdeka Group is HIRING! We are looking to hire a passionate applicant to join our team as Business Improvement Officer.

Business Improvement Officer

Responsibilities:

• Monitor the progress of ongoing business improvement projects and strategic initiatives across various mining departments (Operations, Finance, HR, and Supply Chain).
• Maintain project dashboards, track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and escalate potential bottlenecks or delays to the Manager.
• Organize and facilitate cross-functional alignment meetings, ensuring all project stakeholders are on the same page.
• Synthesize complex findings into high-quality, executive-ready presentations (PowerPoint) and brief memos for senior leadership.
• Assist in reviewing existing business processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at both the head office and mine sites.
• Identify operational redundancies and propose structured, data-driven solutions to improve efficiency.
• Creates and identifies a roadmap for improvements.
• Execute tactical tasks and special assignments directly requested by the Manager or Executive Board on short notice.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Management, or a related quantitative field from a reputable university.
• Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of professional experience. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and create an inclusive environment with people at all levels of an organization.
• Ability to communicate in a structured manner and effectively, with all stakeholders, including senior leaders, both verbally and in writing, in English and local office language(s).
• A self-starter mindset with high curiosity and a strong drive to learn mining operations rapidly.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented. Ability to break down and solve problems through quantitative and qualitative thinking and analysis.
• Capability to drive an independent workstream in the context of a broader team project.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Possesses a strong sense of responsibility.
• Willing to travel to site(s).
