Mechanical Engineer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Banyuwangi, Indonesia. This position is responsible for designing and constructing infrastructure building projects, specifically the installation of machinery, piping, and pumps by Merdeka Mining Servis dan Contractor on-site, to ensure compliance with specified project specifications, codes, standards, and quality systems.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, develop, and verify critical engineering documents (P&IDs, layouts, isometric drawings, and material specs).
• Collaborate with teams to define project specifications and implement corrective actions following international codes.
• Manage budget, planning, and timeline forecasting to ensure on-time project delivery. Partner with project controls to generate weekly/monthly progress reports (execution plans, S-curves, and documentation).
• Oversee daily mechanical operations and monitor on-site construction progress, productivity, and manpower.
• Act as the main point of contact for multidisciplinary teams and clients to resolve field clashes. Interpret design drawings and specifications to proactively identify risks and technical deviations.
• Work with QA/QC teams to execute Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) and maintain quality records.
• Coordinate mechanical/piping procurement, review technical bids, and track Long Lead Equipment (LLE) delivery.

Qualification:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related major.
• Min. 5 years as Mechanical/Piping Engineer in Oil & Gas, EPC, Power Plant, or Mining.
• Certified POP (Pengawas Operasional Pertama).
• Proficient in MS Project, Excel, and CAD software.
• Strong in freehand sketching, cost estimation, and technician supervision.
• Familiar with construction standards (SNI, ASTM), QA/QC testing, and ITP.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving.
• Compliant with all PT MMS safety regulations.
