Deputy General Manager Operation

The Deputy General Manager Operations will carry out the duties of the General Manager when the incumbent is away from site. This role ensures smooth operations and production growth in a challenging environment, while also overseeing key support areas such as community relations, permitting, HR, and HSE

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead safety culture, contractor risk management, and continuous improvement in HSE.
• Drive sustainability, CSR, human rights compliance, and maintain community relations
• Coordinate permitting with head office to ensure operational continuity.
• Oversee project startup and transition into steady-state operations.
• Build and lead a high-performance operations team to achieve production targets.
• Implement operational risk management (heap leach, stockpiles, pits, dumps, geotechnical).
• Optimize asset efficiency, resource extraction, and capital expenditure.
• Establish business improvement culture and cost-saving initiatives.
• Set and monitor KPls across departments, ensuring cross-functional integration.
• Maintain professionalism, integrity, and leadership aligned with company culture.
• Develop succession planning, training, mentoring, and local-first initiatives.
• Maximize efficient extraction of the Resource inclusive of driving improvements in Resource Model performance for Au Heap Leach and CIL plant.
• Implement strong governance programs for operational risks inclusive of heap leach, stockpiles, open pits and dumps with particular emphasis on geotechnical risk management
• Lead and supervise the respective department team daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Establish and develop annual KPI's across the business and monitor the achievement regularly
• Ensure the integration across functions / departments in meeting the business objectives and Pani Growth implemented

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mining, Mineral Processing, or related discipline
• 10-15 years in mining operations, with strong exposure to operations and processing.
• Experience in heap leach and CIL
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Placement at Pani site with roster 4:2
