We are currently seeking motivated and highly qualified candidates to join our team in Indonesia for the below positions:

 

Superintendent - Commercial

General Requirements:

  • Graduated from Tertiary Degree in Accounting/Finance/Industrial Engineering or related discipline Minimum of 8 years previous experience in a similar role experience in mining and / or construction Proficient in English and Computer Literature
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost control, and procurement processes.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and practices.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (SAP)

Job Overview:

  • The Commercial Superintendent is responsible for managing and coordinating all commercial activities on sites, with a focus on budgeting, procurement, cost management, and contractual administration. The role requires a strong understanding of project management, cost control, and stakeholder communication to ensure the successful completion of projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • A Commercial Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing the commercial aspects of construction projects, ensuring that the project stays on budget, meets contractual requirements, and adheres to the company's financial and operational objectives. Here's a detailed job description for the role:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Budget & Cost Control Support:
    • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Monitor and report on project costs, including procurement, labor, materials, and subcontractors. Identify and implement strategies to reduce costs without compromising quality or timelines.
  2. Procurement & Contract Administration:
    • Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services. Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring that terms are favorable to the company and compliant with legal requirements.
    • Manage the execution and adherence to project contracts, including handling any changes or claims.
  3. Financial Reporting & Documentation:
    • Prepare regular financial reports for senior management, detailing project status, budget performance, and financial forecasts
    • Provide recommendations endations for corrective actions if the project is off-budget or delayed.
  4. Team Leadership & Coordination:
    • Supervise the commercial team and subcontractors, ensuring they adhere to project specifications and timelines. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field staff to ensure efficient project execution.
    • Mentor junior commercial staff, offering guidance and support as needed.
  5. Risk Management:
    • Identify potential risks to the proiect's financial success and propose mitigation strategies. Ensure that all financial and contractual documentation is accurate, complete, and up to date.
  6. Client & Stakeholder Communication:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding commercial matters, ensuring their needs are met. for Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  7. Compliance & Quality Control:
    • Ensure that all commercial processes comply with industry standards, legal requirements, and company policies. Monitor the quality of materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  8. Change Management:
    • Assess and manage any changes in project scope or specifications, ensuring that proper adjustments are made to the budget and schedule. Negotiate and manage change orders with clients and subcontractors.
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
    • Successful delivery of projects within budget and on time.
    • Minimization of cost overruns and financial risks.
    • Effective negotiation with subcontractors and suppliers.
    • Timely and accurate reporting of financial status and issues.
