MANAGER OHS (OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY) – 926533

Some of your duties will include:

  • Provide leadership, motivation, direction and assistance to staff and employees to improve Thiess safety management system education and compliance;
  • Implement improvements to Thiess Safety Management Systems to ensure the conservation of people, property, environment and profits;
  • Ensure the compliance of Safety Management Systems through regular monitoring programs so as to provide assurance that we meet our safety obligations for our people, business, legal, statutory, clients, community and shareholders;
  • Represent the company in government or industry safety groups and programs;
  • Responsible to facilitate the health and safety of employees through education, training and demonstration of the right behaviours;
  • Conduct regular reviews on safety performance and implementation of TSE standards, site risk management controls and safety improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct reviews of Project Risk Management controls. 
  • Promote operational (Supervisor/Superintendent) ownership of incident investigations, and review investigation reports to ensure integrity of findings.
  • Ensure close out of incident investigation reports and related actions within time frame.
  • Periodically compile and review incident data analysis and identify and implement improvement programs.  This is to include injury prevention programs towards achieving TRIFR targets.
  • Participate in investigations of significant incidents and identify deficiencies in risk control programs.
  • Conduct site Safety Audits as per schedule.  Follow through on audit outcomes and provide assistance as required.
  • Assist site team with preparation for external audits and continued compliance with OHSAS18001/ISO45001, and SMKP.
  • To monitor and follow-up on project corrective action status to ensure that they do not become overdue.
  • To be involved and informed in the implementation of health improvement initiatives and awareness programs.
  • To promote and support safety reward and recognition programs across the Projects.

 What skills and experience do you need?

  • Tertiary Graduate with relevant qualifications in a safety, engineering or similar discipline, with minimum of 15 years’ experiences in mining discipline and minimum 5 years professional experience in a similar role (Client relations, Subcontract management, Project management);
  • Extensive knowledge, skills and experience in Occupational Health & Safety management systems
  • A commitment to safety and a desire to maintain our Indonesian coal operations to world class international safety standards. You should also be able to clearly demonstrate previous results together with a pro-active commitment towards safety whilst having attained the teamwork and respect of local communities and adherence to relevant environmental standards;
  • Cross Cultural Management sensitivity and an understanding of community issues relevant to large mining projects within developing countries;

SUPERINTENDENT TECHNICAL SERVICES  –  926516

Some of your duties will include:

  • To ensure all design and planning provided for allowing the maximum productivity and coal recovery in the most cost effective and safe manner;
  • Record and report on the results of Implementing the mine plan, highlighting good, bad, lessons learnt and priorities for Improvement;
  • Provide qualitative and quantitative data of the reserve and manipulate reserves to account for mining practices;
  • Mining methods and selectivity, handling, blending and transport of coal;
  • Create and maintain a schedule database In XPAC/Excel for excavation and dump sequence;
  • Produce - scheduling outputs for clients (progress, sequence, quantities, truck requirements, costs);
  • Provide Mine Planning inputs for tendering new business;
  • Liaise with clients and estimating to provide necessary data for pricing;
  • To provide data for financial accrual in monthly basis and management needs.
  • Coordinate with Senior Geologist re client geological model and Senior Geotechnical Engineer as required;
  • Liaise with client on preparation of Working model & ensure relevant new pit data are incorporated into the next working model;
  • Reconciliation (comparison between model, survey and actual);
  • Ensure geotechnical issues are highlighted and controls implemented (eg; monitoring systems);
  • Design according to the best available geotechnical advice;
  • Liaison with client and consultant mining engineers.

What skills and experience do you need?

  • Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering; minimum 10 years’ professional experience In large open cut mining and mine engineering and 3 years experiences in similar role as Superintendent Technical Services;
  • Mining heavy industry-experience is essential; Formal education "MADYA" Certification — Mine and Energy Department — preferred; Outstanding proficiency in geological modelling and mine planning (Mincom) and other general office software (Microsoft) Mining Principles, Mine design concepts and mining methods; An awareness of mine operation regulatory requirements;
  • Strong leadership, excellent interpersonal and communication skills for both oral and written in English & Bahasa Indonesian; problem solving using analytical method, interdepartmental and management interactions, client focused, cost driven, work to deadline, computer literate.

 

SUPERINTENDENT PLANT OPERATIONS (BIG DIGGER & ANCILLARY) – 926442

Some of your duties will include:

  • To ensure that the maintenance department goals are achieved, by following the procedures set out in the TMS.
  • Communication and reporting. Ensure maximum communication levels are maintained between workshop and operations personnel regarding breakdowns safety issues, and prioritizing of equipment repairs.
  • Ensure that all area supervisors accurately complete daily breakdown reports, supervisors shift report, PCR’s for submission the planning and administration before 8am every day. Ensure accurate   breakdown hours information is provided
  • Analysis of component condition and recommendation of parts required. Ensure correct procedures used when troubleshooting breakdowns and failures
  • Review operator’s checklist summary and mechanical inspection sheets, ensure submission to planning department with repair and parts recommendation. Ensure supervisors and mechanic raise recommended parts lists accurately to address all known work, breakdowns, and planned maintenance
  • Planning and co-ordination of shut down work in cooperation with planning department. Ensure all repairs are carried out in a cost effective and timely manner
  • Investigation and reporting of all accident damage to all equipment in the field and associated area, this includes operator abuse
  • Ensure a safe working environment for all employee by ensure all activities are carry out according to the work procedures in the TMC and the project management plan
  • Ensure that there is no impact on the environment from the activities that are carried out to operate and repair equipment by ensuring that the procedures in the TMS and Site Management plan are followed
  • Ensure that all maintenance tasks are carried out in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.

 What skills and experience do you need?

  • Mechanical Engineer or Ex Apprentice
  • Minimum 10 years industry mining maintenance experience.
  • People handling skill diagnostic skills in all aspects of mechanical repairs.
  • Mechanic experience on Thiess equipment e.g.  Cat, Komatsu, Liebherr, Coal hauling and lifting equipment.
  • Knowledge of welding procedures
  • IT Literacy

 

SUPERVISOR MECHANIC BIG DIGGER –  926397

  • Applicants should have minimum Senior High School, Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Trade Specialist is preferred; Requires a minimum 5 years' professional experience in similar role as Supervisor Mechanic with relevant qualification in Mechanical HE Repair and Maintenance Supervision in the mining industry, planning of daily shut down schedule and breakdown repair;
  • Mechanical & auto electrical repair experience in experience in Big Digger unit : Liebherr, Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi ; handling diagnostic skill in all aspects of electrical repairs;
  • Good leadership and people management skills preferably with training in staff supervision; have ability in resource planning and OHS&E supervision; logical thinking; excellent interpersonal and communication skills for both oral and written in English; be able to operate computer; conflict resolution; sound decision making skills; Posses POP and (Pengawas Operasional Pertama) certification at Mine and Energy Department; be able to work on shift roster (day and night shift).

Some of your duties will include:

  • The scope of your role will include but not be limited to ensure all welding machines are in good working order and condition;
  • To monitor NDT crack testing on big digger, Cracks inspection and follow up repair as required;
  • To monitor NDT crack testing on all dump Trucks, crack inspection checks prior units servicing and recorded in system and follow up repair as required;
  • To ensure do Bucket crack inspection and GET on big digger at mining rest time;
  • To Monitor Small digger Bucket, Blade on Dozers NDT test and follow up replacement or repair schedule;
  • Ensure that the correct work procedures are used for Cracks repairs and keep good quality of repairs;
  • Monitor and maintain importance all welding and electrical tools keep it good condition and replacement is requiring if necessary and proper use;
  • Ensure all welding machines are in good working order and condition;
  • Ensure all oxy acet sets and hoses in good conditions including flash back arresters and all oxy acet equipment; ensure all welding PPE is worn and in good condition;
  • Monitor welding consumables and maintain stocks;
  • Maintain good working environment and to communicate any grievances to Supervisor.
  • Design according to the best available geotechnical advice;
  • Liaison with client and consultant mining engineers.

What skills and experience do you need?

  • Minimum Degree in Senior High School
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as Supervisor Welding in Coal Mining Industry and Heavy Equipment Industry;
  • Have good management, good leadership skill and communication skills, proactive, initiative & innovative and able to work under pressure are preferred character traits.

 

EOI OFFICER INVENTORY CONTROL – 926549

Some of your duties will include:

  • Review and monitoring of all Store costing, receipts, issues, storage, allocation, and inventory levels.
  • Analyse and raise Order Stock replenishment bas on reorder report.
  • Assisting to the Warehouse Officer in analysing and controlling of the site Inventory.
  • Handling Inventory data base on JDE system in warehouse.
  • Liaise with all Warehouse staffs at site that related to the Warehouse and Inventory system in order to maintain integrity of the Inventory system.
  • Prepare data for reconciliations of the stock accounts, keep track and report on any variances in the General Ledger balances.
  • Prepare monthly stock takes as required and run random cycle counts.
