Manager for Mining Business Development

Location: Samarinda / Kaltim

As a committed professional with relevant business development experience gained within the mining/trading industry (especially in coal), you will have well developed business development skills plus the personal attributes to fulfil the requirements of the role.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Corporate

• Identify and generate potential business investment opportunities in the coal mining industry and other minerals or resources industries with primary focus on Kaltim.
• Seek opportunities for coal trading business in Kaltim and assist on coal trading implementation processes.
• Provide effective support and oversight of Joint Venture partnerships to ensure company’s interest and concerns are being communicated and addressed.  Coordinate performance reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually if necessary)
• Follow up on projects to address emerging needs and improvements within the companies.  
• Provide 1st hand on-site information for high- profile projects / investment / trading opportunities
• Communicate, deal and negotiate with multiple stakeholders in creating relations of trust 
• Maintain and always keep update with the changes in coal mining industry legislation and regulation
• Follow up on strategic mining projects to ensure achievement of business strategies Investments
• Working in and influencing alignment within a multidisciplinary project team (legal, financial and economic) with focus on any projects relevant to Kaltim region.
• Identifying critical business development risks and issues within existing and new investments in Kaltim region.
• Providing advice and support to the Company’s asset operating teams.
• Providing assistance and support to company Rep in Kaltim.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in geology or mining engineering preferred;
• Proven mining/trading industry experience at a mid-level (min 5 years) preferred in Kaltim
• Track record of successful business development within Kaltim, Indonesia
• Proven ability to effectively support multiple project teams. 
• Willing to learn and open to new approaches
• Able to coordinate with local communities;
• Able to work as a team member with commitment;
• Sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and information in Kaltim coal and other resources/minerals opportunities
• Willing to travel extensively to multiple projects sites mostly in Kaltim region. 
• Able to communicate in English.

• Team oriented –share information and ideas openly plus supportive of other team members
• Possessing sound judgement
• Informative of local knowledge and opportunities
