PT KALTIM PRIMA COAL (PT KPC)
SENIOR ENGINEER – MECHANICAL
(Fixed Term Position)
Key elements of the position include:
- Make technical and cost calculation with assistance from mechanic drafting section.
- Provide design, specification, and cost estimation for modifications and additions to maintenance and Operation dept. It should meet the International standards.
- Identify and develop solutions to existing problems to improve equipment performance, availability, reliability, maintainability, safety, and minimise/reduce costs and environmental impact.
- Submit the Capital Expenditure Application (CEA) for mechanical projects.
- Manage mechanical projects to ensure customer requirements are satisfied, also meet to KPC Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standard.
- Direct contractors to ensure that work is completed on time, within budget and to an acceptable standard.
- Promote and reinforce compliance with the KPC HSE rules and regulations among all employees.
- Monitor HSE aspects of projects activities.
- Provide feedback to plan and maintain optimum manning within the Mechanical group.
- Foster teamwork spirit and create a workplace culture among employees consistent with the KPC values.
- Provide feedback to Supt on applying the most optimum design, work method and material to maintain cost efficiency.
- Determine improvement target; find inefficiency root causes; determine and implement action plan; measure results; standardize; and continue the same process to other costly or inefficient programs using continuous improvement methods.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree (S1) Mechanical with 5 years relevant experience in wide variety of mechanical projects including mining industry and Power Plant.
- Sound problem solving and decision making competencies.
- Leadership, communication and interpersonal skills to influence and deal with a diverse range of personnel.
- Sound project management competency.
- Financial skills to handle project and budget responsibilities.
ENGINEER - MECHANICAL
(Fixed Term Position)
Key elements of the position include:
- Plan and carry out engineering program, including development of design, calculation and technical review.
- Coordinate activities concerning technical developments, scheduling, and resolution of engineering design and test problems.
- Coordinate and exercise functional authority for planning, organising, controlling, integrating, and completing engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility.
- Perform, coordinate and supervise project execution and control, including tender process, evaluation, administration, and site construction, i.e., fabrication, installation, commissioning, and quality assurance/quality control.
- Assess risks on the project and implement controls.
- Schedule and monitor project progress.
- Prepare and submit report to Superintendent on project progress status on a regular basis.
- Demonstrate and encourage acceptance and implementation of KPC HSE programs and practices.
- Control expenditures within limitations of project budget.
- Determine improvement target; find inefficiency root causes; determine and implement action plan; measure results; standardise; and continue the same process to other costly or inefficient programs using continuous improvement methods.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary education in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable university.
- As a guide, a minimum of 2 years’ experience in construction project and/or bulk material handling and/or mining environment.
- Comprehensive understanding and experience in implementing Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
- Detailed understanding of mining industry.
- Good knowledge in Mechanical Standards and Codes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong concerns for HSES.
SENIOR DRAFTSMAN (CIVIL)
(Fixed Term Position)
Key elements of the position include:
- Assist Eng/Supv to do site measurement/survey for design purpose.
- Prepare several sketches of civil work plan to be selected and approved by superior. Finalize the approved detailed sketches to produce clear plan.
- Produce all stages of drawing required for preliminary design, tender, construction and post-construction in the area of civil works (earthworks, road and drainage) as well as building/project construction and maintenance.
- Calculate work volume from design to be reviewed by Eng/Supv.
- Make drawing as per standards (format, numbering).
- Assist to register and file drawing.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Highschool (preferably Engineering/STM) with 7 years working experience, graduate with 5 years working experience as a draftsman.
- Able to operate Auto-CAD.
- Understand techniques of giving numbers and identification, and keeping designs/plans in accordance with KPC standard.
- Diligent, meticulous and patient.
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills, both in Bahasa Indonesia.
SENIOR DRAFTSMAN (MECHANICAL)
(Fixed Term Position)
Key elements of the position include:
- Work with engineer and internal client to solve engineering design related problem.
- Delivering appropriate design based on basic economic and ergonomic concept, quality, and assurance techniques.
- Supervise, check, and inspect mechanical equipment during fabrication and installation.
- Develop design drawings.
- Review and check drawings from contractors.
- Demonstrate and encourage acceptance and implementation of KPC HSE programs and practices.
- Assisting technical coordinator on the implementation of any action plan and giving feedback upon any improvement required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Diploma 3 Mechanical/ Civil or other related discipline with 3 years’ experience.
- Experience as draftsman in project environment and/or bulk handling equipment and process and/or mining environment.
- Good Leadership and Time Management skills.
- Good knowledge in Mechanical Standards and Codes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in computerized drafting systems and able to operate AutoCAD, AutoDesk and Inventor.
- Experience with Mechanical or Civil/ Structural standards, fabrication and manufacturing techniques.
SPECIALIST – MAINTENANCE TRAINING
(Fixed Term Position)
Key elements of the position include:
- Develop learning outcomes from data provided as a result of training needs analysis conducted in the position’s particular discipline area.
- Develop lesson plans from a list of learning outcomes in order to provide a consistent approach to the delivery of a competency development programme.
- Deliver Off and/or On the job training for KPC employees in order to raise skill and competency levels.
- Conduct training in a manner which will encourage and motivate trainees to want to learn.
- Monitor trainee progress in learning during training sessions and provide appropriate feedback.
- Assess course participants to ensure that learning outcomes have been met.
- Record trainee attendance and assessment results accurately to ensure integrity of Alesco training data base and to provide accurate feedback to customers.
- Resource and/or develop appropriate training materials to support effective module delivery.
- Liaise with customers as required to provide information on training course and training administration, receive feedback on all matters related to training activities and to determine training needs.
- Maintain an awareness of one’s own career development needs and be proactive in the improvement of skills, knowledge and competencies required to further improvement one’s own performance.
Qualifications:
- Minimum SLTA or STM on automotive or electrical with above 10 years’ experience in heavy equipment maintenance.
- Possessing experience as Maintenance Trainer or competency Assessor would be preferable.
- Computer literate and excellent skill in designing and developing training manual.
- Excellent organizing and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written) in both bahasa Indonesia and English.
SENIOR ENGINEER - ELECTRICAL
(Fixed Term Position)
Key elements of the position include:
- Plan and carry out engineering program, including development of design, calculation and technical review.
- Coordinate activities concerning technical developments, scheduling, and resolution of engineering design and problems.
- Perform coal chain system monitoring, assessment, analysis as well as evaluation, and recommend improvements of system performance.
- Perform training/mentoring to other Control Engineer/Electricians.
- Coordinate and exercise functional authority for planning, organizing, controlling, integrating, and completing engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility.
- Perform, coordinate and supervise project execution and control, including tender process, evaluation, administration, and site construction, i.e., fabrication, installation, commissioning, and quality assurance/quality control.
- Assess risks on the project and implement controls.

- Bachelor Degree (S1) Electrical or Physics majoring in Control system or Instrumentation.
- Minimal 5 years’ intensive experiences in Electrical – Automation & Control System fields.
- Having on hand experiences to do programming on Siemens S7-300 PLC, Siemens WinCC and Schneider Citect Scada Systems.
- Extensive knowledge of field devices, sensors and actuators, industrial data communication, motors and variable speed drives.
- Experience and familiar with related standard (IEC, IEEE, AS, PUIL).
- Sound problem solving and decision making competencies.
- Leadership, communication and interpersonal skills to influence and deal with a diverse range of personnel.
- Sound Project management competency.
- Financial skills to handle project and budget responsibilities.
- Excellent written and oral communication. Skills in both English and Indonesian, to liaise with internal and external contacts.
- Strong concerns for HSES.
