MINE PLANNING ENGINEER

Way Linggo Project is in Southern Sumatra and situated within the highly prospective Trans Sumatran Fault. It is a 4th generation Contract of Work (Mining Title) covering an area of 100km2.

Way Linggo Project contains high grade, narrow vein, low sulphidation epithermal gold and silver deposits with the Way Linggo open pit and Talang Santo open pit 20km north in operation. PT NM has mined both deposits by underground previously. An active exploration program is currently underway with promising areas being detailed.

The Open Pit Mine Planning Engineer is responsible for long term mine planning & design and scheduling leading to accurate forecasting and budgeting for the 2 hard rock open pits, waste dumps and associated infrastructure. The role requires active interaction with Operations to ensure plans and schedule are being achieved. There is also involvement with the Feasibility Studies for pit expansions, RKAB reporting & presentations and Mining Engineering projects. The position reports to the Mine Planning Superintendent.

We achieve this through sound planning & operation and the management of risks. Providing our owner and contractor workforce with a safe working environment is fundamental to our business.

In this environment, effective business planning, appropriate design, compliance to business processes and an ongoing focus on cost effectiveness is critical. The success and our ability to extend the life of this asset is closely linked to the effective application of forward planning, performance analysis, cost reduction and the effective application of capital.

Experience and Qualifications
Required:

• Qualified Mining Engineer with a minimum 5 years’ experience
• Open pit mining planning and scheduling expertise with operations involvement
• Experience must include hard rock gold mining
• Must have good computer, Surpac and MineSched skills
• Good communications skills and speak reasonable English
• Proven ability to work in a close team.
• 4/2 roster and immediate start

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Mine Planning of medium & long-term plans, designs and schedules.
• MineSched scheduling for 2 open pits
• Active involvement in operational implementation of the plans and schedule.
• Modelling, forecasting and budgeting for the Mining Dept
• Optimisation and production monitoring of open pit contractors
• Monthly, Quarterly and Annual reporting
• Active interaction with Survey, Geology, Geotech, OC Mining contractors & PTNM personnel
• Active role in Safety, Environmental and Community areas.
• Mining projects as required.

 

Your roster will be 4 weeks on and 2 weeks on field break. A suitable remuneration package in keeping with candidates experience and skills will be negotiated with the company meeting the costs of 1 flight and road transport to site and all accommodation and meals while on site.
