Geologist

PT STM is seeking a Geologist to provide technical advice and assist with collection, interpretation and analysis of geological data.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Implement exploration activities in a timely, safe and cost effective manner;
• Supervise all aspects of the geological data capture flow and provide training, guidance and advice to other project geologists so quality data is provided;
• Lead field crews so that all necessary data is captured for the project;
• Interpreting research and development data and preparing reports, maps, charts and diagrams, and papers;
• Compiling geological information and performing risk assessment to select and prioritize exploration targets or locations
• Locating and determining the nature and extent of mineral deposits using several methods (geophysical, geochemical, petrogenesis, drilling results, etc).
• Orientating and supervising the work of geology technicians and auxiliary workers;
• Planning and programming technical and support activities and supplies for the field or shed work and exploration camps;
• Building comprehensive reports and presentations on research and development work, findings and interpretations;
• Assisting in positive organizational relations with communities and land owners;
• Assisting in training people and in internal communications for sharing best technical and HSEC practices; knowing, complying with, encouraging employees’ compliance with procedures of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System and Code of Ethics, assisting in the construction, implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement of these processes. The position is based at Site Huu, Kabupaten Dompu, West Nusa Tenggara Barat but will require minor travel travel to Jakarta Office when required.

Requirements of the position

• Graduate Degree in Engineering Geology from reputable University
• POP or POM certification is a must
• More than five (5) years relevant geological experience in large scale.
• Experience with Geological modelling software
• Knowledge of hydrogeological characterization for hard rock environments is highly regarded
• Fluency in Bahasa and English
• Ability to scope, mapping, Surface mapping, supervision and hole monitoring, Conducting Geology core logging and supervise consultants, providing specialty evaluation.

The person we’re looking for will have good interpersonal skills, be a confident presenter and have the ability to produce high quality written reports in English. They will also need to be team player, be results driven and able to work autonomously.
