Martabe Gold Mine is managed and operated by PT Agincourt Resources. The mine covers an area of 30 km2 that falls under the sixth generation of Contract of Work (Cow) covering a total area of 1,639 km2.
The resource base on 31 December 2015 includes 7.4 Mos. of gold and 69 Mos. of silver. Production commenced at Martabe on 24 July 2012. The operating capacity of Martabe Gold Mine is 4.5 tap ore to produce in excess of 250,000 oz. of gold and 2-3 Mos. of silver per annum.
PT Agincourt Resources engages approximately 2,300 employees and contractors, more than 98% Indonesians, of which 71% were recruited from South Tapanuli and other regions in North Sumatra.
To strengthen the existing management team and to ensure the achievement of the company objectives, the Martabe Gold Mine is looking for candidate to fill the role:
MEDIA RELATIONS SUPERVISOR (CC 1703017)
This position will be based in Martabe Site in Corporate Communications Department, working on schedule 4 weeks on; 2 weeks off and reports directly to Media Relations, Content & Publishing Superintendent.
The role of the Media Relations Supervisor are as follow:
- Under close supervision, Media Relations Supervisor Martabe-based will assist Media Relations, Content & Publishing Superintendent to plan, organize, and implement programs, particularly focused on engaging wide-large public, utilizing electronic, print, video, and social media resources via relevant media outlets.
- Generate content for various publication materials to be used on website and other communication tools.
- Cultivates, manages and strengthens relationships with media agencies at provincial and local levels and maximizing positive coverage in the mass media by providing information, ideas and images accurately and fairly.
- Maintain, nurture good relationship with media at provincial and local levels and other strategic alliances; liaise with, answer enquiries from media, individuals and institutions.
- Assist to be front-line content strategist and producer to conceptualize and create high-value, engaging, and educational content that is distributed through a wide range of communications channels for media and external public.
- Apply new, innovative ideas and creative ways to tell stories through content that promotes brand in a proper, coordinated, and consistent manner.
- Engage cross-functional teams, including colleagues from Publications, Event, other related departments and external vendors, to ensure that all elements within integrated corporate communication campaigns are designed, produced, and deployed in a cohesive, seamless manner.
- Support the management of content inventories (meaning make sure all the pieces created are warehoused and findable internally).
- Prepare and disseminate PR supporting documents including approved press release, brief docs, articles, opinion, and ad-spots to printing, electronics and digital media.
- Work closely with site-based Corp Comms team members on the preparation of media visit, press conference, media briefing exhibitions, open days and other Communications-related events.
- Collate and analyse media coverage; distribute results to targeted people; review important issues and put a flag to news of a real concern.
- Maintain and update media related materials for database.
- Support Media Relations, Content & Publishing Superintendent in ensuring adherence to communications policies, protocols, standards and branding of PT Agincourt Resources to help promote positive exposure
Candidates for this role would be expected to have the following qualifications and experience:
- Degree in Communications/Journalism/Public Relations.
- Preferably an experienced staff with min 3 years’ experience in corporate communications, journalism, and/or public relations-related field, in mining/energy-related industry, media or NGO’s.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher) and graphic design software program (Adobe Photoshop/InDesign/Illustrator and iMovie/Moviemaker).
- Have a reliable network and knowledge of publishing industry and the media, how they operate, and which types of media to use for different purposes.
- Proven experience in developing successful PR activities, events, and media activities that affect behavior.
- Have the ability to effectively communicate complex and distinctive concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong relationship building skills.
- Strong ability to work and plan both independently and collaboratively and complete assignments in a timely and efficient manner.
- Highly motivated to work in a demanding, very deadline-driven environment with the ability to work frequently under pressure and additional hours as job and peak business deadlines require.
- Good communication and writing skills both in Indonesian and English (both is a MUST!), the ability to draft (for review) and edit communications materials.
- A skilled researcher with the ability to analyze, summarize and simplify complex information and communicate it to different groups.
- Good project management skills - ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects and prioritize workload.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex and/or distinctive concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Exceptional attention to detail and quality.
- Experience of successfully managing projects, involving multiple stakeholders, from start to finish.
- Have understanding of marketing, advertising and communications within the business-to-business space; hands on experience in business online marketing.
