PT STM is seeking an experienced and motivated

Forestry Specialist/ Coordinator

to undertake the management, compliance and reporting of forestry activities of PT Sumbawa Timur Mining’s Hu’u Project.

The position will play a key role in ensuring the PT STM’s field activities are undertaken in a manner that minimises impacts to the environment, the forest resource and in strict compliance with the company’s forestry permit. Regular visits and inspections to operational sites of the Project are required. It is also expected that the Forestry Coordinator will support and supervise rehabilitation activities conducted by the company. The Coordinator will play a key government compliance and reporting role (e.g. UKL/UPL and forestry permit).

The position is based at Huu Project but will require occasional travel to Jakarta office and other location as per the company requirement.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• University qualifications is Bachelor Degree / Master Degree in environmental science, forestry, science, biology, environmental management or a related discipline.
• GANIS Accredited Certifications (GANIS-PHPL, GANIS- CANHUT).
• At least 10 years’ experience managing forestry activities, forestry reporting, rehabilitation and forestry studies/surveys on major mining, infrastructure or energy projects. Experience in delivering rehabilitation programs and coordinating field teams.
• A sound technical knowledge and understanding of forest ecology and habitats in Indonesia (and preferably NTB Province).
• Experience working on major extractive industry projects in Indonesia
• Strong commitment and knowledge of environmental and forestry programs in a rural setting.
• Knowledge of Indonesian forestry and environmental legislation. Knowledge of Indonesian forestry and environmental legislation.
• Current or past certification as a GANIS-accredited forestry professional
• Fluent in English is an advantage
