G-Resources is an Asia-Pacific gold company, based and listed in Hong Kong, and is operating the Martabe Gold Mine in North Sumatera. The open cut mine, with an average strip ratio of less than 1.4:1, and a conventional processing circuit incorporating jaw crushing, SAG and ball milling and CIL, processes in excess of 4.5mtpa to produce greater than 250,000 ounces of gold and 3 million ounces of silver annually. To strengthen the existing management team and to ensure the achievement of the company objectives, the Martabe Gold Mine is looking for candidate to fill the role:

Purchasing Superintendent – SCM 1067

This position will be based in Martabe Site and SCM Department, working on schedule 4 Weeks on;2 weeks off and reports directly to the Deputy Manager Procurement & Contracts.

Role of this position is responsible to :

• Ensure a high level of support to user departments through cost effective procurement and contracting.
• Bidding, negotiating, preparation, administration and management of all procurement activities.
• Applying an ethical, efficient, risk managed, consistent and cost effective approach at every stage of the procurement process.
• Control and manage all direct purchases, stock purchases, capital goods procurement including consumables and spare parts to support 24/7 operations of the Martabe Gold Mine.
• Support Local Business Development and engage with PTAR Local Business Development Department to ensure full support of local community business is achieved while ensuring PTAR are obtaining the best price possible for goods purchased while maintaining a level of integrity at all times which as expected of our senior staff.
• Deputizing where necessary for the Deputy Manager Procurement and Contracts and providing cover during field breaks.
• Maintain department SOP’ and KPI’s.
• Plan organize and control the activities of the PTAR Purchasing Department in order to improve and manage supply and commercial aspects of all services in accordance with PTAR standards, policies and procedures, Indonesia Law and Martabe Mine Contract of Work.
• Applying an ethical, efficient, risk management, consistent and cost effective approach at every stage of the process.

Candidates for this role would be expected to have the following qualifications and experience:

1. Graduated from Degree in business, law, engineering or equivalent.
2. Certified professional in Purchasing Management.
3. Minimum 15+ years’ experience in purchasing in mining industry including project construction.
4. Experience in purchasing high dollar items and preparing complex Purchase Orders or Purchase Contracts.
5. Sound understanding of relevant sourcing capabilities domestics and international.
6. Well-developed computer skills to be able to implement and maintain effective processes and procedures.
7. Exposure to PRONTO or similar ERP system.
8. Strong documentation skills, sound business sense, advanced English language documentation skills with high attention to detail.
9. Good communication skill in English
10. Good interpersonal skill
