Sumatra Copper & Gold plc is an emerging gold and silver producer with a suite of highly prospective tenements in Southern Sumatra, Indonesia.

The Company has a significant project portfolio encompassing greenfields exploration projects, to brownfields near-production opportunities.

EXPLORATION MANAGER

ASX listed Sumatra Copper & Gold is currently seeking an Exploration Manager to discover new resources at its projects in Sumatra Indonesia. The Company major asset is the Tembang Project that hosts an extensive low sulfidation epithermal vein deposit. The company also owns significant prospective areas around Tembang and at its wholly owned Tandai project.

Role Details

The primary objective of the role is to make new precious metals discoveries, define and expand resources and work with the company’s operating team to complete feasibility studies and define reserves.

This role is offered on a roster of 4 weeks on and 2 weeks off and is FIFO from Perth, Jakarta or Denpasar Bali. Days on will be based either at Tembang mine site, other exploration projects in Indonesia and Jakarta office.

As Exploration Manager you will be reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. You will be responsible for full compliance with Sumatra Copper & Gold standards whilst ensuring the delivery of exploration targets in a safe, productive and efficient manner.

Key responsibilities will include;

• Setting objectives and key decision points for all exploration projects and monitoring performance of exploration activities against the objectives and decision points.
• Recruitment and retention of appropriately qualified and experienced exploration staff or consultants.
• Support Executive Management in business development initiatives including acquisitions and disposal or farm out of non core assets. tambang or.id
• Ensure that exploration activities are conducted in accordance with group policies and procedures on health and safety, environmental and community relationships.
• Manage and plan tenement acquisition and retention, manage access issues with land owners, ensure timely filing of exploration reports and reporting of tenement activities.
• Ensure that exploration activities and conclusions from these activities are documented and that the company’s database of geological information is maintained in an orderly and secure manner.
• Develop business plan and budgets for exploration. Report performance against objectives and budget to Board each month.
• Prepare reports, presentations and information for press releases in support of the company’s regulatory responsibilities and investor relations activities.
• Work with operations team on development of assets and definition of resources.

Key factors to your success include;

• Experience in epithermal systems preferably in Indonesia with a minimum of 15 years experience.
• Demonstrated success in participating in exploration discoveries
• Understands modern exploration techniques with strong background knowledge in geology, geochemistry and geophysics in application for exploration
• Comfortable using computer based exploration databases
• Understanding of Stock Exchange JORC reporting requirements and experience to sign off as a competent person.
• Experience in Managing and Leading diverse team
• Prior experience in establishing and managing exploration projects in remote areas
