This is an exciting time to join Phu Bia Mining.  Our Phu Kham Copper-Gold Operation is in its fifth year of production, our Ban Houaxyai Gold-Silver Operation commenced production in 2012 and we have a pipeline of exploration projects in Laos.

This position is based at our Phu Kham Copper-Gold Operation, located approximately 120km north of the Lao capital, Vientiane.

This role is part of our in-house capital projects team, who constructs and manages all major and minor capital projects for our operations in Laos. Reporting to the Project Controls Superintendent, you will be responsible for cost control across a range of projects and whilst you will be based at Phu Kham, you will provide support for projects in other locations, thus requiring you to travel as required.

 

Cost Controller

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining the project budget and forecast throughout the project lifecycle
  • Analysing variances between budget, forecast and actuals
  • Producing project financial reports
  • Inputting commitments and payments and loading trends into the cost control system
  • Reconciling commitments and payments each month
  • Assisting with the collation/preparation of the project weekly and monthly report
  • Reviewing and checking the construction progress reports
  • Ensuring that data and documents are properly managed

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  •  Degree qualification in Engineering, Accounting or relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in cost control in a construction project environment
  • Excellent verbal and written English language
  • Outstanding analytical and financial skills
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite and Primavera software
