Kaltim Nitrate Indonesia (KNI) is a joint venture company between Orica and Armindo Group. KNI is determined to be the safest and best performing Ammonium Nitrate Manufacturing facility in the world.

 

Senior Manager Technical

We are currently seeking a Senior Manager Technical role at our KNI Bontang Plant in East Kalimantan, Indonesia.

The main role of this position is to responsible for technical support and the continuous improvement of process technology for the site. This position will report to Senior Site Manager Bontang and will work on 5 days on and 2 days off roster.

What you will be doing

  • Complying with Orica’s safety standard and procedure;
  • Representing the technical team on the Manufacturing Centre Leadership team;
  • Managing the overall technical support provided to the site for production and broader business activities;
  • Ensure laboratory analytic resources and other requirements for the site are met;
  • Managing the site engineering documentation;
  • Managing the overall performance and lifecycle of DCS and SIS systems;
  • Collaborating with the global technical team, engneering and asset management team as required

What you bring

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering;
  • Having minimum 10 years of experience in continuous chemical manufacturing plant;
  • Experience in Nitric Acid and Ammonium Nitrate or explosives (desireble);
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: design, commissioning, operation, DCS systems;
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement and Quality Control (preferable).

Senior SHES Specialist

We are currently seeking a Senior SHES Specialist role to be located at our KNI Bontang Plant in East Kalimantan, Indonesia.

The main role of this position is to lead continuous improvement in workplace health and safety and in reducing the risk of major incidents occurring at the Manufacturing Centre, through the application of Orica’s SHES Management System in accordance with the statutory requirements. This position will report to SHES Manager and will work on 5 days on and 2 days off roster.

What you will be doing

  • Managing the Manufacturing Centre compliance with regulatory requirements related to workplace health and safety (WHS) and those environmental issues that are associated with site operations;
  • Complying with Orica’s Group Safety, Health and Environment Policies;
  • Maintaining licenses and permits for manufacture and write clear guidance for Manufacturing Centre teams to maintain compliance with WHS requirements;
  • Identify risks to current (and foreseeable) compliance and support the Manufacturing Centre to implement recommendations to prevent regulatory sanctions;
  • Develop, optimise and manage Manufacturing Centre risk management systems and lead risk assessment activities;
  • Improving behaviours across the Manufacturing Centre’s workforce to better recognise and respond to WHS and environment matters, including implementation of behavioural management initiatives;
  • Establish and maintain an effective Manufacturing Centre SHE Committee to collaborate and deliver continuous improvement in WHS across the Manufacturing Centre. Provide a monthly summary statement of the Committee’s activities.
  • Maintain a professional and constructive working relationship between the Manufacturing Centre and the regulators. This includes being the primary Manufacturing Centre contact for the specific regulatory departments and responding to all enquiries and reporting requirements.

What you bring

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering;
  • Preferably post graduate qualifications in the area of Occupational Safety and Health;
  • Certified General Safety Expert and Chemical Safety Expert;
  • Experience in leading HAZOP and other risk assessment process;
  • Minimum 5 years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experiences;
  • Familiar with the Indonesian WHS and MHF legislatives requirements;
  • Knowledge in Engineering principles and risk assessment techniques;
  • Proven knowledge, understanding and experience in occupational safety management system and risk-based process safety system.

Senior Environment Specialist

We are currently seeking a Senior Environment Specialist role to be located at our KNI Bontang Plant in East Kalimantan, Indonesia.

The main role of this position is to lead continuous improvement in environmental and sustainability performance at the Manufacturing Centre through the application of Orica’s SHES Management System and statutory requirements. This position will report to SHES Manager and will work on 5 days on and 2 days off roster.

What you will be doing

  • Managing Manufacturing Centre compliance with regulatory requirements related to environment and sustainability;
  • Complying with Orica’s Group Safety, Health and Envionment and Climate Change Policies;
  • Take the leadership role in the Manufacturing Centre related to enviromental regulation and issues;
  • Improving employee’s behaviours accross Manucfacturing Centre for better recognition and response to environmental matters;
  • Driving the development of processes to meet Orica’s SHEC Management System requirements associated with environmental aspects;
  • Liaising with relevant regulatory authorities as required;
  • Investigating environmental and community incidents and develop appropriate actions to minimise the potential for a recurrence;
  • Providing expert environmental advice to site personnel to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and continual improvement in environmental processes;
  • Developing, reporting and analysis of environmental objectives and targets. Reporting of monitoring results in accordance with local requirements.

What you bring

  • Bachelor degree in Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering;
  • Preferably post graduate qualifications in Environmental Management or Sustainability;
  • Having a minimum 5 years of experience in chemical plant, preferably with an environmental focus;
  • Strong knowledge of Environmental related legislation and application;
  • Having experience in working with regulators;
  • Knowledge and experience in waste water treatment, air emission monitoring and assessment , groundwater assessment and remediation would be desirable;
  • The ability to influence, create and implement strategic direction and actions with successful outcomes;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
