We are seeking experienced people for the following positions:

 

MANAGER PLANT OPERATIONS CENTRE - COMPONENT REBUILD – EXPATRIATE (925608)
(Balikpapan Support Facility)

Some of your duties will include:

  • To assist Thiess to achieve agreed Plant Business Unit targets through effective management of internal component rebuilds;
  • Provide support and coaching leadership to National Staff and Wages employees within the department;
  • Design and implement an efficient, streamline component workflow;
  • Inventory, supply management and reordering of parts;
  • Implement a Job Tracking system for monitoring and reporting process efficiency;
  • Develop and implement standard bills of materials and rebuild scopes for planned component rebuild work;
  • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure best practice component reliability. Component shall be rebuilt to achieve at least TCI target hours;
  • Investigate opportunities to expand rebuild program to include key Komatsu driveline components;
  • Seek opportunities to reduce rebuild cost, all costs are within budget and monthly turnover results are at or above average;
  • Actively seek and communicate opportunities for development and improvement within the department;
  • Actively support safety initiatives and promote safety focus within the Component Rebuild Group

What skills and experience do you need?

  • Tertiary qualifications in an engineering, commerce, procurement, construction or other business-related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a relevant component rebuild industry.
  • Minimum 5 years leadership experience in a workshop environment.
  • Demonstrates contributing to a positive health and safety workplace culture, can role model appropriate OH&S behaviors.
  • Strong communication skills, able to work across cultural diversity and maintain and build relationships
  • Demonstrates high standards of workmanship and a consistent high standard of housekeeping in all areas of responsibility.
  • Can demonstrate maintaining compliance with relevant industry maintenance systems and procedures.
  • Possesses sound commercial acumen, with the confidence to negotiate with external suppliers to deliver cost efficiencies.
  • Ability to think creatively to develop and identify ideas, thinking and improvement that can substantially add value to the Support Facility
  • Self-starter with initiative and drive and the ability to self-manage, act decisively and deliver to deadlines.
  • Sound knowledge of Lean manufacturing tools and techniques.

 

SUPERINTENDENT PLANT - 926214
(Wahana)

Some of your duties will include:

  • To ensure that the maintenance department goals are achieved, by following the procedures set out in the TMS
  • Communication and reporting. Ensure maximum communication levels are maintained between workshop and operations personnel regarding breakdowns safety issues, and prioritizing of equipment repairs
  • Ensure that all area supervisors accurately complete daily breakdown reports, supervisors shift report, PCR’s for submission the planning and administration before 8am every day. Ensure accurate breakdown hours information is provided
  • Analysis of component condition and recommendation of parts required. Ensure correct procedures used when troubleshooting breakdowns and failures
  • Review operators’ checklist summary and mechanical inspection sheets, ensure submission to planning department with repair and parts recommendation. Ensure supervisors and mechanic raise recommended parts lists accurately to address all known work, breakdowns, and planned maintenance
  • Planning and co-ordination of shut down work in cooperation with planning department. Ensure all repairs are carried out in a cost effective and timely manner
  • Investigation and reporting of all accident damage to all equipment in the field and associated area, this includes operator abuse
  • Ensure a safe working environment for all employee by ensure all activities are carry out according to the work procedures in the TMC and the Wahana project management plan
  • Ensure that there is no impact on the environment from the activities that are carried out to operate and repair equipment by ensuring that the procedures in the TMS and Wahana Management plan are followed

What skills and experience do you need?

  • Mechanical Engineer or Ex-Apprentice
  • 10 year-experience in mechanical repair and supervision in the mining industry. Planning of mechanical repair.
  • Experience in working with budgets
  • Be able to communicate well, English both in verbal and written is a must. Be able to manage subordinates.
  • Having proven diagnostic skills in all aspects of mechanical repairs
  • Basic computer skill
  • Mechanic experience on CAT, KOMATSU, HITACHI and LIEBHERR equipment
  • Knowledge of welding procedures

 

ENGINEER QA & TMS – 926150
(Wahana)

Some of your duties will include:

  • Ensure Project Management Plan and Procedures are documented and incorporate the requirements of the contract and Quality Standard
  • Provide input to the Quality Management System to ensure continuous improvement of TMS
  • Assist Thiess personnel with the development of Project Plans to ensure they incorporate the requirements of the Quality System and Contract Conditions.
  • Assess consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors Quality Systems for compliance with the contract/project requirements also communicate requirements.
  • Perform surveillance and audit activities on consultants, suppliers and subcontractors to verify compliance with project/contract requirements.
  • Implement non-conformance control system on the project for recording, actioning and closing out non-conformance and recording costs of remedial actions.
  • Provide training and development of personnel in quality management to ensure understanding of system requirements.
  • Action results of internal audits and management reviews in conjunction with Thiess personnel.

What skills and experience do you need?

  • Engineering Graduate from any discipline
  • Minimum 3 years experienced in a same role
  • Quality system documentation complies
  • Third Party Accreditation Standard
  • Surveillance Report and Audit Reports; Internal Audit

Senior Supervisor Auto Electrical - 925964

Some of your duties will include:

  • To help ensure that maintenance department goals are achieved
  • Communication and reporting. Ensure maximum communication levels are maintained between field crew and operations personnel on issues relating to breakdown of equipment.
  • Accurate completion and signing off on daily time sheets.
  • Accurate completion of daily plant diary, and prompt submission to planning for data entry before 7.00am every day.
  • Ensuring accurate breakdown hour’s information is provided.
  • Analysis of component condition and recommendation of parts required.
  • Accurate completion of plant component reports, installation check sheet WO’s are closed and signed, and submission to planning daily.
  • Review of all checklists and electrical inspection sheets, submission to planning department daily
  • Planning and co-ordination of shut down work with the planning department
  • Investigation and reporting of all accident damage to all equipment in the field and associated area, this includes operator abuse
  • Make sure all electrical of equipment’s are in standard Ensure all disciplinary actions are issued as required in accordance with the Wahana mine regulations and maintenance department rules

What skills and experience do you need?

  • Senior High School / Technical School or Technical Engineer
  • Familiar with Heavy equipment’s: Dozer (Caterpillar / Komatsu), Excavator (Hitachi/Komatsu/Liebherr), Sandvik Drills, Dump Truck (Caterpillar)
  • 10-year experience in mechanical repair and supervision in the mining industry
  • Servicing experience on caterpillar, Komatsu and Liebherr, Ingersoll-Rand and Hitachi equipment

 

Supervisor Jig Plant - 926219

Some of your duties will include:

  • Efficient and effective organization and management in the JWP (Jig Wash Plant) shift working area
  • Lead and organize JWP shift working operators to ensure outstanding performance is achieved in good quality work and people performance;
  • Shutdown the JWP operation if condition is identified unsafe or environmentally unsound, the condition must be reported to the CHPP Senior Supervisor.

What skills and experience do you need?

  • Minimum Senior High School and having minimum 5 years experiences in mining industry in fixed plant operational
  • Good leadership skill, good communication in English as well Bahasa able to communicate to all level (internal/external), good in planning and organizing job; proactive; able to work in under pressure

 

Senior Engineer Mine Planning - 926221

Some of your duties will include:

  • Give an assist to Mincom Officer to make designs of sediment pond, pit drainage, channel diversion, reject dump, O/B dump, haul road, culvert, and pit design.
  • Prepare permit clearing and the drawing; Undertake technical assessment & financial modeling for projects to determine contract variation;
  • Resolve technical problems and clarify any drawing or specification requirements with designers, field staff, subcontractors and client as required;
  • Prepared weekly plan and reconciliation following monthly forecast;
  • Prepare daily and weekly for project sequence, reclamation sequence, top soil dump area following monthly plan (pit design);
  • Prepared and calculated spoil balance and overburden removal to ensure achieve spoil balances; Monitoring and controlled dump area (haul distance) and equipment productivities;
  • Reconcile equipment performance achieved against that scheduled in order to explain variances and continuously improve prediction;
  • Provide daily advice to production personnel on the required direction of mining to achieve scheduled sequences and targets;
  • Provide feedback to the Project and reclamation engineer to keep they informed of any changes of sequence required in the pit;
  • Prepare statistics and reports to detail the performance of the mining operation against schedules;
  • Ensure all subcontractor performance to achieve production target

What skills and experience do you need?

  • Mining Engineering Degree; with minimum 5 years’ experience in large open cut mining and mine engineering; previous Management and Supervisory experience
  • Outstanding proficiency in mine planning and other general office software (Microsoft);
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for both oral and written in English;
  • Good understanding in mining principles, mine design concepts and mining methods; an awareness of mine operation regulatory requirements.
